Seeds for the Future

The purpose of Seeds for the Future is to provide assistance with the reforestation of Cuyamaca Rancho State Park while raising funds for the Outdoor Education Foundation. The money raised during this campaign will help provide financial assistance for students in need who could not otherwise attend Cuyamaca Outdoor School, also known as Sixth Grade Camp.

After the large wildfire in 2003 destroyed many cedar and pine trees continued efforts have been made to reforest Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. In the past 3 years, foresters have planted over 170,000 seedlings in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park with only a 20-40% survival rate. The Outdoor Education Foundation has a rare opportunity to help in the reforestation efforts by planting 100 trees at Cuyamaca Outdoor School.

For a donation of $50, the Outdoor Education Foundation will plant a young native tree and send a card to the family or person the donor has designated. Planting a tree on behalf of someone is a unique and personal and allows the recipient to feel good that something wonderful has been done in their name. Most importantly, each gift will help Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in the reforestation efforts while also providing financial assistance to students who need the support to participate in Cuyamaca Outdoor School.
